Original Art - Richard Case (Hunter: The Age of Magic)
Tim Hunter is destined to be the world's greatest magician. In Neil Gaiman's "The Books of Magic" prestige series and in the subsequent 75-issue series written by John Ney Rieber and Peter Gross, he is introduced to the world of magic and makes his way thru demons, angels and furious Faerie. "Hunter: The Age of Magic" (published 2001-2003 in 25 issues) follows the 16-year old Hunter after he enters the White School, the academy of magic that spans the worlds of the DC Universe, and his return to Earth. As you can see from my other galleries I'm a fan of the character. But in addition to that, I also value these pages highly because Richard Case's stylized pencils and Steve Bird's inking made for beautiful and expressive pieces. I'm very thankful to Rich Case for selling me most of these. Unfortunately, this series has not been reprinted in the TPB format. But if you do happen to see some issues in your favorite store or in a convention, do check it out!
