In my younger days I attended a few US Comic Conventions, mainly to complete my comic collection, but also to meet some of my heroes in person, like Jack Kirby, Wallace Wood, Will Eisner, Jim Steranko, Marshall Rogers and Gil Kane. I got to meet them all and was pleasantly surprised to find that most of them were very humble and friendly persons. San Diego 1980 was the most successful, already the following trip in 1983 made me feel that I'd had enough. Times were changing, with business, money and crowds getting bigger.
