"Comics Aren't Just for Kids!" The 1990s revival can be traced to directly to Vertigo (and well, to Sandman, which started Vertigo, but you get the point). Profound, and sometimes transcendant writing...usually with visuals unlike anything else at the time...and usually behind a McKean, Bolland or Fabry cover. What more could a fan want! Vertigo's energy has lagged in recent years, in my opinion, but at its high-water mark it set the tone. Herein are pages from Animal Man, Doom Patrol, Sandman, Swamp Thing, Shade the Changing Man, Sandman Mystery Theatre and Kill Your Boyfriend. I would add that someone out there (and She-Knows-Who-She-Is) has two Animal Man pages featuring "Streaky, the Super Cat." I would like them back, and would even pay, since I doubt she is getting any enjoyment out of them.
