DescriptionThis half-splash is from Justice League of America #64 from 1968 wherein readers were introduced to the Silver Age Red Tornado. It was written by Gardner Fox and drawn by Dick Dillin and Sid Greene. Mr. Fox had the tradition of introducing a new JSA member during each Crisis crossover and, running out of characters, he turned to the Red Tornado; however, instead of the comedic Ma Hunkle character of the Golden Age, he created a new android version. By coincidence, Roy Thomas and Co. at Marvel would create a new android version of one of Timely's Golden Age characters, the Vision, at virtually the same time. Much like the Doom Patrol & the X-Men before them, the plot lines to both of these stories shared remarkable similarities. |
