Description

This is the mini-poster given out for free in movie theaters to promote the film. It's pretty much the same poster as the one in the States, only with more Japanese.
Unlike the Marvel movies which arrive months after everywhere else, Japan's getting the new Star Wars movie in a timely fashion later this month (Dec. 2015). I was actually going to wait to see how this fared with the critics, but, surprisingly enough, the wife said, "Let's go see it." And this was after she went with me to see the Phantom Menace!
So, I'm like, "OK, talked me into it." Didn't take much.
So the title in Japanese is "STAR WARS/フォースの覚醒" (which, one, doesn't use the katakana-title "スター・ウォーズ" because after 30 years, "STAR WARS" in just about any language is "STAR WARS," and, two, the subtitle actually reads something like "The Force's Awakening" but, hey, close enough, right?")
