Description

Claws and Webs, Black Cat and Spidey made a great team. Working with other artists is always a kick. It opens up new possibilities, new directions to push the artwork. Perhaps the best analogy would be a songwriter hearing their song sung. Ray Lago brings so much talent & skill to the artwork, his sense of craft is second to none. Ray is known for his brilliant, graceful figure work, lush watercolor technique and delicate rendering. On this particular piece the fun was taking Ray a little out of his comfort zone by being more overt with the figure's sexuality. Black Cat was done back when I was starting 'Identity Crisis'. At that time I was dropping off pages a couple of times a week at DCcomics and would occasionally stop at Ray's mid-town apartment. Ray did all the heavy lifting, my part on this piece was just an outline drawing, much like a coloring-book.
