DescriptionI love this piece. I acquired it at SDCC 03 directly from Anne Timmons. The combination of the happy eyes, the curl of the mouth and the placement of the limbs communicates the pure joy of being able to fly. The juxtaposed close up with the big eyes is (I don't mean to sound gay here) so darling. The flying saucer and astonished bumpkins gives it that special touch of weird drama.As produced, the facial features were done in color which obscured the delicate expressions, so here and my wall are the only places you can see the good pure version of this piece. Go Girl is the kind of comic that is hard to sell since it appeals mostly to a demographic (young girls) that do not venture into comic book stores in vast numbers. |
