If you start looking at them all from the front of the line and work your way up towards the back, at first glance one might think the faces are all the same, as the lips seem very similar, especially on the first 5 versions. But a careful examination of all their faces reveals that Nicola actually referenced different women for every single face, with each one clearly having distinct facial bone structures and being of diverse nationalities. That she illustrated them with such fastidious care is really heartening, as it shows that the work is so much more than "just another assignment" to her. It's a stupendous tour de force that even rivals some of the loveliest George Pérez covers.

It's a real treat to have had the opportunity to see and study this piece, easily one of the nicest Wonder Woman works of art I've seen in many years. Kudos to Nicola and also to you for acquiring it, Jill. Well done!

In pre-Covid days, I would often help out western comic artists when they visited Japan. In one instance, I was with Ryan Benjamin when he was working on what seemed to be a perfectly fine Wonder Woman commission that was halfway finished, and, while I was there, he just tossed it because the pose wasn't right. Most of the artists I've been around put in a lot of thought into commissions like this and the way they want to present a chosen character in their style. To put it mildly, Thompson nailed the pose. I particularly like how she captures a sense of motion and action while keeping Wonder Woman's face passively stern. More than that, I see this and think, "This is how Wonder Woman should look." Cheers!

Alluring pouty lips and her gentle handling of the vine gives her a graceful harmonious feel with the environment.

The curly hair on her is a great visual that more should adopt for dramatic drawings like this.

A spectacular design updated by Pham.  The classic Arthur Adams issues inspired many X-Men fans and is the stuff of legend.  This tribute has all the nice costume elements plus the right attitude of Storm during that era of the team.

DC and Batman villains aren't normally my thing, but this is just stunning. The youth in the face is so well rendered, and has an innocence that Ivy isn't fully corrupted yet. Amazing piece.

That winged golden armor design from Kingdom Come is one of the best things that crossed over into the mainstream.  I think more importantly, it restored Wonder Woman's identity as the true warrior out of the big 3 as Superman was the alien and Batman was the detective.  Butler's pin up honors that with a shield and ax.  The background color hues are stunning to frame the golden WW.
