Phenomenal black and white noir of the feline detective. 

An absolutely cinematic entrance that not only sparkles on its own, but also is reminiscent of Jakita's arrival at the diner in issue 1 of Cassaday's greatest work, Planetary. 

This is stuningly gorgeous. Love the simple negative space of the counter. It gives the eye a resting piont from the busier details of the background. Daytripper is a uniquely beautiful work and this commission rivals any page from it. 

This is dynamite. Congrats. I'm waiting on one from Eduardo myself and can't wait to see him tackle it.

Tim was a huge Steranko fan and this one clearly took some inspiration from his love for the man's work. 

Other than a flashback scene on page 6, the entire short story is dialogue free. Tim often said he wasn't much of a writer, but pulling off a wordless story proves otherwise, IMHO. 

Panel to panel storytelling is the beating heart of comics, so I try to get myhands on sequences I love whenever possible. 

The up lighting on this is soooo good.

I asked him at NYCC if he'd experienced the Mignola control and he said he'd heard that reputation but hadn't experienced it. Your Mignola quote adds insight to that conversation, so thank you.

IMHO, Lee's art took a gigantic leap with the Elmer Fudd one shot and this annual, and this is a phenomenal example of that!

It's so refreshing to see a commission that focuses on the environment and it's not a splashy hero shot, let alone one that doesn't even show the charavter's face. 

What a gem from one of my absolute favorite stories of all time!great use of silhouette and this whole fight sequence had great panel to panel choreography. 

It's a pose Tim liked to draw in convention sketches and one he eventually used for the cover to the Absolute Long Halloween. 

One of my favorite miniseries and the book that hooked me on Lee's art. Congrats on getting your hands on this one.

As a Risso fan, I congratulate you on this gem. However, as someone who appreciates a great write up, my sincere thanks to you for spending the time to so thoughtfully articulate Risso's positive/negative storytelling mastery. 

Batman putting some fear into the master of fear. You'd be hard pressed to find a better Tim Sale DPS than this. It's a gem. 

Between the beautiful colors, body language and facial expression, it's impossible to pick out a favorite aspect of the gem. Congrats.

The colors here are next level amazing. That said, I'm most impressed by his choice to cover one eye with Nora's reflection. Not only does it add a wonderful story element to the piece, but it also makes the one eye grab your gaze in a way two eyes showing would not have. 

This is indeed a unique and splendid piece of Tim's work that stands apart from most other examples you'll find out there. 

As always, Sonu, a splendid writeup to accompany a splendid piece. Eduardo is a true master of the medium, and I'm happy you're so thrilled with your commission. Pair it with your Riddler piece and you've got a real dynamic duo!

I totally agree with you, Sonu. This has all the hallmarks that make Eduardo's work so distinctive. The shadow and light separate this from your average full figure commission with no background and elevate it to something special, IMHO.

Ooooh. Love this! Almost Famous is still in my top 5 all these years later. Great piece!

While everyone has their personal favorite color book, Gray stands above the rest because it has the best story, IMHO. Tim felt that way as well. 

The art, of course, is phenomenal, and this sequence is a highlight. What makes this page unique from the others in the sequence, however, is the moment of tenderness in that first panel. Here you have Hulk reaching out to Betty, struggling to give voice to what he feels and finally make a connection, only to be snatched away by his new mechanical nemesis.

For me, it's little moments like these that separate Jeph and Tim from the pack. Congrats on a real gem. 

As beautiful as his washes are, Matteo's inkwork on this book was next level spectacular. 

Not much, because I was about to say the same thing. LOL.

This was one of the pages I wanted at the drop. Not only does it have everything you'd want in a McDaniel Nightwing page, but it also has shades of the issues where Nightwing and Robin went blindfolded on the trains. Congrats!
