As you know, we share a love for "moment" pages, so I considered this one too. Glad you got it, and splendid writeup, as always.

I was going to leave the same comment just now, Mike, because it's so true. Instead, I'll say the "hero stops a car" scene has been played out in comics countless times, but Cassaday makes it especially impactful here by taking the time to draw each individual piece of the destruction. Tilting the action towards the bottom right of the page was also an inspired choice. Congrats on a beaut, Simon! 

As much as I love Marvels and Kingdom Come, this is my favorite Alex Ross project, and this piece does such a great job of encapsulating the thematic idea underlying the plot.

I often wonder how many people remember, or are even aware, of this book. Marvels and Kingdom Come are phenomenal works, IMHO. However, in many ways, U.S. surpasses them. It's a thought provoking story and one of my personal favorites as well. Congrats on this splendid introduction page of the main character.

This one brings back fond memories of one of my favorite issues. 

Simon, it was definitely your piece that I'm talking about in the description. I was not surprised when it showed up in your gallery since, as we've discussed, it seems like our tastes have significant overlap.

Just read this one today and he's the character I relate to most as well. Absolutely brilliant book by Chaboute, and this is sketch is a delight. 

The way Tim moves the eye to the blood splatter, but lets it happen outside the frame, adds something special to this one.

Jesse's creativity and desire to always challenge himself with new approaches has made him one of my favorite artists, and this is a stunning example of why he's so great. Marcus is right. The lack of line around the body is inspired. 

Great storytelling on these two in sequence pages. The blood splatter in the borders is inspired and pulled off beautifully by Scott Hanna. Gives this page a unique vibe. 

A stunning depiction that once again proves Risso's use of positive and negative space is unparalleled.

That's a keeper!

I've added many more since then and I'm certain this won't be your last either. and thanks for taking the time with such a thoughtful write up. Good eye, Marcus. Kenny provided a couple layouts and there was another we discussed that I quite liked. But this was his favorite, specifically because of the triangle layout of the figures. I really like the metaphor it creates of Iron Man caught in the middle of Cap's friendship. 

Decidedly Hipp yet captures the look and feel of the animated series at the same time.

Great angle on the Bamf kick to start off with a Devi,ish upshot of the cackling rogue to end it. 

Jeph and Tim excelled at the quiet moments, and this one exemplifies that in spades. You can feel the weight Bruce is carrying and his sadness for what, perhaps, could have been. Both in Tim's art and Jeph's words.

You are 100% correct. This is a phenomenal representation of Tim's Batman and I'm glad it's found its way to someone who so clearly appreciates everything he brought to the page.

Love the energy Damian Scott brings to a page, and this one has it in spades. 

This is gorgeous! Love that Fabio goes against convention by drawing many of the tentacles as a straight line rather than curvy. It heightens the drama and composition immensely. And that inky, solid black water is inspired. 

The mass of cops, their forward momentum and the confined alleyway create phenomenal tension and energy. A great Parobeck cover!

I'm a sucker for a spotlight piece. But I particularly like this one. The steps and knife give me vibes of the swashbuckling scenes that used to take place in old black and white movies.

I remember this story making me laugh as much as Conan did. This is a gem!

The one-two punch of camera angle choices in that top tier are perfection. And the bottom tier ain't too shabby either. 

The linework here is so crisp and lively, giving us so much to take in and enjoy as a viewer. Yet we still get the spotted black at the window to take our eye right where it needs to be.  

An absolutely brilliant design and use of negative space. Simply splendid.

It's rare you see an artist willing to go small and not fill up every square inch of space, but it's the perfect choice here to heighten Peter's sense of loneliness and sadness. 

I remember seeing this one on the shelves like it was yesterday. This was the book that introduced me to Carlos Pacheco's work and is probably my favorite all-time Pacheco image. Such a great design.

I was wondering who got this. Sincere congrats on acquiring the whole story. Max is a special talent and every one of these pages shows why. 

Mark is a talent who's recently caught my eye as well. He brings so much energy to his work and this piece is just splendid!

This is some dynamite storytelling punctuated by a phenomenal last panel that ensures the reader will want to turn the page to find out what happens next.
