Her look was definitely sexier back then. The current one is more punk/goth which has kind of been played to death on a gazillion characters. You know, now that I think about it, it may have been cooler if I just flipped the pose from the left onto the right and put her in her current attire. Kind of a flip of the coin comparison. Hmmmm. Thanks, Rob. Negatron Man was tricky. The only ref we found was pretty sloppy. His face changed from panel to panel and I think he had some kind of energy blowing off the top of his head. Hard to tell though. So, I went with the cleaner version the client decided he liked. That made things much easier.

Thanks, Rob. Negatron Man was a little tricky. The drawings in the ref were very sloppy. His features changed from panel to panel and I think he had some kind of energy blowing off the top of his head but it was hard to tell. So, I ultimately went with the cleaner version the client wanted.

Thanks. I really enjoyed working on those books. The Comet was the first series I worked on for DC. And I really wish the JLA would have worked out differently. Ah well, live and learn.

Ha! That's 'cause I sucked in the 90's. Seriously though, thanks. As an artist you want your work to grow and evolve. When it comes to published comic work, a couple of external things affect the outcome; inkers and current trends. When you're an established artist that produces good sales figures, you can present your work however you'd like. When your just starting, you may find yourself lightly pushed into the house style of the moment. As far as inkers go, sometimes the skillsets mesh together well and sometimes they don't.

Was never a huge fan of Colletta but it definitely worked on Kirby's Thor run. Sinnott was the perfect choice for the FF run though. It all depended on the flavor of the series.

Very nice homage. I love that it works on a different level as well. This piece perfecly demonstrates how far the field of comic art has evolved and advanced. Stronger page layouts and composition, accurate, more dynamic anatomy, realistic light and shade, etc. Simply better art all the way around. Excellent job.
