It's an understatement to describe this cover by the great Dave Stevens as beautiful. He was one of a kind and this is a stellar example by a pioneer and an innovator. The inking is without a doubt some of the best he's ever done.

My favorite Neal Adams period. Stellar example and a worthy addition to the Scott Williams collection. Something so magical about Palmer's inks made this run truly amazing.

Gene - The run by Paul Smith and Chris Claremont shaped the way I viewed the X-men and comic books in general. The art is a sight to behold. They don't make covers like this one anymore. This is an absolute all-time favorite cover of mine. Purchased right off the newsstand in my youth. Not a stock piece or pin up turned cover that has absolutely nothing to do with the story. A time when continuity in comic book storytelling was important and the characters mattered. It wasn't about completing three or six issue story arcs so that a trade paperback could be manufactured for resale. I applaud your taste and ability to achieve your nostalgic goals.
