Great story, and that is the best looking Mantis I've ever seen! I had a similar experience with Adam years ago, I asked for Dumb Bunny and got a puzzled look. You know, from the Inferior 5? Crickets. But he absolutely killed it regardless!

Some were obvious, like Layton on Iron Man, Frenz on Thor and Garney on Cap. But mostly it was luck of the draw. I wanted to use artists who had done work for Marvel, so I'd see who the guests at the cons were going to be and try to figure out who'd they be good at drawing. Sometimes certain characters had to be drawn before others, like Yellowjacket and Wasp had to be done before Iron Man. But the artists were all super talented, and they all could have drawn anything.
