Great win. Alan is one of those few artists who can create a pencil piece that would be diminished if inked. This is a good example of that.

I agree. I asked Kelly if he could somehow add the helmet to the piece without having Morpheus wear it because I wanted to see his face. I think the choice he made of putting it in the foreground at the Sandman's feet creates a unique mood and purpose.

I think Mr. Lynch is the most underrated comic artist there is. This piece is about as brilliant a work of his that I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I do remember. My dad was struggling with his new camera to get the picture right. Mr. Takei was being announced to appear on the stage which was just to our left but he stayed with us until my dad took the shot. Very cool cat.
