CAF Update #158

We run down all the popular artworks posted to CAF between August 7-13, 2023, and also review highlights from sales reported from original Comic Art Dealers and Auction Houses for the same periods.

I've also got Micah Spivak on with me to start the show at 8pm EST tonight. We'll be previewing comic art lots from their current Event Auction #55 which ends next Monday, August 21st. They've got artworks by Al Milgrom, Jack Kirby, John Romita Sr, Graham Ingels, Ross Andru, Jim Aparo, Erik Larsen, Rich Buckler, Serpieri, Lee Elias, Travis Charest, Dale Keown, Rob Liefeld, John Buscema, and many others!

I've selected 10 auction lots this week from show sponsor Heritage Auctions upcoming Weekly Comic Art Auction that I've chosen to feature. We get things started with this Hellboy page from Almost Colossus by Mike Mignola - you know how rare vintage Hellboy pages come up for auction! They've also got this great fantasy page from Vampirella by Wally Wood, a brilliant Keith Pollard and Gene Day Thor #313 page, a Gray Morrow fantasy illustration featuring a topless female fighter, a surreal Ian Miller Illustration from 1990, a great Frank Robbins Invaders #4 page featuring the whole team, a George Tuska and Frank McLaughlin Green Lantern page from 1983, a Batman Who Laughs #5 page by Jock, a Catwoman sketch by Jim Balent, and finally from a French Marvel reprint this Titans #53 painted cover by Thomas Frisano featuring Dazzler, Angel, Black Bolt and Lockjaw. As you can see, a little something for everyone's taste in this upcoming weekly Heritage auction!
