The OAX COLLECTIONS IN BLACK All Access four-episode mini-series is more than just your typical YouTube video series; It offers an in-depth look at the collaboration between CAF and Collections in Black. This series will take you on a deep dive into the events that made this collaboration possible.
Collections in Black first premiered in Pittsburgh, PA at the renowned
August Wilson African American Cultural Center, showcasing some of the most culturally relevant original comic book art the world has ever seen. Not only was this exhibit groundbreaking for featuring such a large collection of original culturally significant comic art, but it also marked the debut of the Collections in Black documentary film.
In
Episode 3, It’s Saturday, and OAX 2025 is officially underway. The team is scrambling to get the artwork displayed due to circumstances beyond our control. Fortunately, we complete the setup just in time, and it’s a hit! Some of the biggest artists and collectors stop by the OAX Special Gallery room to show their support. Many attendees have never seen this level of culturally relevant original comic book art presented in such a professional way. The highlight of the day was when the GOAT,
Denys Cowan, took the time to visit and tour the gallery. The first day was a resounding success!
