Description

So, I decided to bite the bullet and add a second Boris to my collection. Boris painted this image for his 1996 fantasy calendar where it appeared for the month of February. Titled alternatively "Mormak" and "Holding Back", here's the description as provided by Philip Jose Farmer in his text for the calendar, which described his Myths of Raltarnee:

"Mormak was a minor god created by a goddess as her mate. But he was unhappy with his rank and power, and warred on the goddesses of a hundred worlds. All are now locked up in the Place of Neither Entrance Nor Exit. During the war, Mormak enlisted Rekmall, a refugee shape-shifter from the Universe of Never-Ending War. What Mormak does not know is that Rekmall is really Raltarnee, the Supreme Goddess, in disguise. She's been amusing herself by helping him in the war, but soon he will know it all too well."

The image was also used for the Boris with Julie All-Chromium Collector Card series as image #34, published in 1996.
