Description

Stunning graphic combination of anatomy and fantasy from the hand of a master. This depiction can be compared to draughtsman predecessors prior to those of the art and age of comics. Bold and sometimes exquisite anatomical rendition was mixed with romantic fantasy by such artists as Henry Fuseli and William Blake and their followers centuries ago. Compare Rogue�s trajectory here with Fuseli�s �Puck� for example (see additional image). To me, Tim is a modern successor with equally striking work and sometimes stretching their levels of daemonic content to even further extremes - but not in this elevating compact canon-ball of a drawing. Drawn by Tim at his suggestion of Rogue 'skinny-dipping in the sky', New York Comic Con, 1991. Fabulous! (14x11ins)
