Description

Matt is an absolutely incredible talent. The effort and intention he puts into his art is second to none. His character designs on his own created-owned works are fantastic, but he's also able to employ that incredibly imaginative design to established characters who we've seen countless times. Matt presents them to us in a way that we've not seen before, but captures the essence of the character.

When I had an opportunity to get on his list for cover quality I knew I wanted someone from the Cosmic Marvel pantheon. I felt that would give him plenty of runway to take off and let his imagination and style run free, and I could not be happier with the result. As is often noted with his work you can see an incredible gamut of inking and hatching techniques on display. I am a huge fan of Virgil Finlay and am always very happy when you can see echoes of Finlay influence in a piece, and I feel like this one has that going on for sure.
