DescriptionThe last of the Mythos series by writer Paul Jenkins and artist Paoloa Rivera came out in 2008 . This was one of the few books I collected at that time. It was an incredible 6 book series done in a painterly style of the origins of the X-men, Hulk, Ghost Rider , Spider-Man, Fantastic Four and ended with Captain America. There was talk of continuing with 2 additional books ( possible Iron Man) but the time to create each book was extensive so they decided to end it with 6 booksThis page was done on one 22"x 17 " 3 ply board and picked up at OAX this year. Paolo told me he asked Marvel that he wanted to make this page into a DPS but Marvel would only pay him as a single page. He decided just to go for it and it really works. I love the use of tonal differences to give the visual depth of the backgroud, midground and foreground. Of course having colorful characters in dynamic action poses helps. One of the best pages in the book and I'm thankful to get it Social/Sharing |
