Description

11x17 “ Nancy Callahan” from “Sin City” commission by the legendary Steve Epting. This one has been just over 7 years in the making. I first made contact with Steve in 2018 where we talked about setting up a home commission opportunity. The first idea was for a Red Sonja piece but from there, after unavoidable delays plus world events taking hold (COVID), the idea changed a few times. The final idea thrown around just last month was for Nancy from Frank Miller’s “Sin City” universe dancing up a storm in Kadie’s Bar.
Steve crafty added other Sin City characters into the scene including Marv and Kevin, amongst others, watching from a distance.
I always try to think outside the box to hopefully get artists to illustrate characters or scenes that they are not primarily known for. I think for this one Steve took hold and knocked it out of the water.
