Description

Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew was the last funny animal comic from DC. It didn't last long, but it was a solid series. They made a couple of other appearances over the years.

More recently, DC decided to drift way off model with CCAZC, but that's another story.

I have a soft spot for funny "funny books" and CCAZC is one of those that stuck with me. It also led me to commission a homage to the cover of my first comic by Scott Shaw, the Zoo Crew's first artist and co-creator as you can see here (click to embiggen):

It was great to see Scott at HeroesCon 2025 and a very pleasant surprise to get a page from a treasured series.

There were several pages from which to choose. I chose this one because it had the climatic battle and a nice team shot. Reach out to 4Cs Comics if you are interested. Scott brought a fair number of pages and a cover to the show, but they may take some time to appear on the website.
