Fascist art for fascist times.

The glamourizing of guns in popular media makes me uncomfortable. So why did I buy this? For one thing, I'm a fan of Cameron Stewart's work and his way with a brush and pen. For another, irrespective of subject matter, it's masterfully rendered.

Spot blacks and inks here are deftly applied and powerful. I particularly like the way the depth of the spotting on the left leg thrusts the character forward. The effect is almost three-dimensional.

What was fun for me about getting this one was that it enabled me to combine two of my favorite pastimes, collecting art and snagging movies on Blu-ray. I hadn't seen or owned Robocop prior. I found it a delirious slice of extrapolative SF that I'm glad I have now in my collection.

This was drawn for the Artists Of Splash Page Comic Artbook, a portfolio sampler of that site's talent pool. Size is an impressive 11 x 17.
