I’m a pretty easy going OA collector.., happy for the pieces I have and the ones I can get.. I don’t get too jealous of what others have or the ones I miss out on . But one piece came up that I WANTED bad and wasn’t able to make happen. The house ad for Inferno… I remember so vividly when those ads started running.. and the anticipation it caused for the crossover. And inferno delivered. To this day it is my favorite X-men “event”. When the original Silvestri piece came up at HA .. I prepped to go above and beyond any art purchase I have ever made. I went as far as I could go and still couldn’t make it happen. Just beyond my financial scope. That one stung a lot (still don’t know who won it if you did let me know I’d love to know where it is) . And like I said I don’t usually sweat pieces I can’t get. But this one kept eating at me. So I did what any reasonable art collector with a good friend who is an Uber talented artist… I asked him to reimagine the piece! And holy crap did Eranga deliver.. he kept all the elements I love … the characters … the feel .. the NYC skyline and the I love NY sign (I’m from the suburbs of NYC) . But made enough small changes like costumes and character positions to make it his own… oh and he made it a DPS! I love it E thank you so much!
