Description

Commissioned from John in advance of Baltimore Comic Convention 2023.

I am a long time fan of John’s work-including Grendel (God and the Devil), Dr. Mid-Nite, Suicide Squad, and Fashion in Action. I first met John after purchasing a number of his painted pages featuring Charlie, Dr. Mid-Nite’s owl.

I’ve always wanted a commission by John and selected Grendel (Eppy Thatcher) as the subject. John added the owl image as an homage to the story that first made me his fan.

I could not be happier with this piece.

Mixed media: pencil, ink, and colored pencils.
