DescriptionTom Fowler “Drinking Buddies” 2025 11” x 17” Ink on paper Somewhere along the line, Tom decided he was only taking commissions of DC and Marvel characters. It might be because some dummy asked him to do a piece based on an early 20th century French film, followed by one on an allegorical journey through hell, followed by another based on a Shakespearean tragedy. I don’t know for sure…but it meant I had to be more creative with my commission choices. I wanted buddy pieces, Tom had drawn some great ones. I remembered seeing a Beast piece with Wonder Man in the background, so I asked for something with those characters. It came out great. I decided to go even deeper on my next one. I remembered a scene where Fat Cobra “reminds” Wolverine of a time he drank him under the table. Wolverine immediately becomes defensive. I asked Tom to draw me that and he banged it out of the park. An instant favorite in my collection.Social/Sharing |
