Description

I've owned a small handful of VT Hamlin's Alley Oop over the years, but I've never owned one featuring dinosaurs before now. This daily is from December 19, 1934, and features Alley, Ooola and Dinny throughout. I'm amazed by the delicate and feathery hatching that Hamlin could get away with. That last panel shows a wonderful range of techniques. I've always been enamored with that Winsor McCay-like approach of the heavier contour line with the more delicate interior lines.

I've put in a few detail shots, including one of that wonderful signature of Hamlin's.
