IN 2009 I got a handful of paintings by George Wunder from the period between 1938 and 1942 when He did illustrations for the AP syndicate's articles an serialized stories. My friend the late Bill Crouch had gotten them from George Wunder. This painting 95% done there were two places penciled in but not painted. Wunder entered the army in 1942 and given the subject matter we figured that was why this one was never finished.
I have always wanted to frame and display it but the unpainted areas made that impossible. One of the nice things about living in the Detroit metro area is that Bill Morrison lives here albeit at the other end of the city from me. O none of his visits he mentioned that he could complete the painting for me. While Bill is known for his comic and cartoon work on the Simpsons, Futurama and Roswell- he is also an accomplished painter having painted movie posters before doing the Simpsons. So he finished it for me. We thought it might be fun to see if anyone could spot the areas he did so we are both posting it on CAF and facebook for a few days to see what might come in as comments. At the end we will show the original incomplete painting.
