Yoshihiro TakaiwaYoshihiro Takaiwa is a Japanese manga artist known for his dynamic contributions to sports and action-themed manga throughout the 1980s and 1990s. One of his most notable achievements was NBA Story, an officially endorsed manga series serialized in Monthly Shonen Jump, which featured iconic NBA teams such as the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers. His ability to authentically portray real-world sports in manga helped broaden the genre's appeal in Japan.
Takaiwa was also the first manga artist to write and illustrate a manga adaptation of Robocop, released shortly after the film’s debut in 1987.
