Heritage Auctions’ Comics and Comic Art Department has sold more than $1 billion at auction since 2001, and over $200 million in 2024 alone. Among countless auction records at Heritage are the highest price ever paid for a comic book, $6 million for Action Comics #1 CGC 8.5, as well as the highest price paid for a piece of original comic art, $5.4 million for Frank Frazetta’s Egyptian Queen painting, and the record price for a comic book collection, “The Promise Collection” which totaled more than $23 million.
