Chuma HillChuma Hill is a comic book artist and illustrator based in Madrid, Spain. From a young age, it was always clear to Chuma that he wanted to dedicate himself to his craft, aspiring for a professional career within the art industry. At the age of 18, Chuma moved to Madrid where he continued to hone his skills, and later started his career as an illustrator. Chuma's artistic style and work has been influenced from both classical and contemporary art, and the way in which the human figure is depicted. As well as from his love of the pin-up genre, technology, science fiction, and retro aesthetics. Most of Chuma's works are comprised using traditional techniques, such as; inks and watercolours. Characterised by the use of loose, expressive, and personal strokes. Playing with colour and lines to build up the main elements of his work, and remaining curious to continuously experiment and create new forms of expression.
Chuma currently works as a cover artist in the comic book industry, and has worked for many world renowned publishers, such as; DC Comics, Boom! Studios, Image Comics, Dynamite, and many more. Titles Chuma has worked on include; ‘Power Girl’, ‘Superman’, ‘Scarlett’, ‘Green Lantern’, ‘Birds of Prey’, and ‘Witchblade’, to name but a few.
