Cross started her career in the comic book industry in the early 2000's landing an apprentice/mentorship at Aspen Comics. Landing her first publication in the form of a pin-up for the company's annual swimsuit edition. Soon after Cross had a short story published even as she began to contribute Art Edits for a variety of comics including: Fathom, Kiani, Soulfire, Shrugged, Executive Assistants and many more. EA eventually serving as the comic that would give Cross her first full issue art job.
Increasingly, however, the inner desire to work on her own properties and have a great deal more creative freedom won out. Leaving Aspen MLT behind, Cross partnered with her best friend and created Near Mint Mill. What began as her own Webcomic company developed into a small publishing business. Through which Cross began to develop her own personal art style using a mix of grayscale shading with watercolors. Through the course of expanding Near Mint's comic list Cross also quickly developed a variety of art styles, from the chibi-esque, to the more traditional comic art style, even an entirely watercolored style specialized for her line of Fairy tales.
Currently Cross provides the artwork for three continuous webcomics, and two seasonal/story specific ones. Realizing her love of comic art was actually a deep passion for Storytelling in general, Cross began writing, having published 4 novels through Near Mint Mill so far, with many more planned or in differing levels of development.
Believing art can be one of the most intrinsic ways to tell a story, and one of the more challenging modes to do so, Cross cherishes projects that evoke emotion and loves developing the art of generating emotion through one simple image.
