In the last 30 years, Kristin Kest has illustrated over 30 books, 15 calendars, covers for numerous magazines and publications, a 100-page graphic novel, and much more. Kest has additional experience in product design-- wallpaper, greeting cards, labels, game cards, and puzzles. Kest's work not only spans markets as well as genres; her work is as fluid in the educational/ technical sciences, as it is in historical fiction or science-fiction. She is also a sculptor, often exploring botanical subject matter in her serious side business as a ceramist. Kest's portfolio also shows that she is specifically fascinated with the intersection between hard science and the Fantastic and the storytelling opportunities that exist in that space. Kest has her MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), and taught Illustration and Drawing at York College of PA for nearly 9 years. In addition to her visual arts career, Kest also enjoys playing keyboards in a rock band and composing original music.
