Somnath Pal, aka Som (preferred name), is a Superani artist, animation filmmaker, art director, and comic book illustrator currently located in Mumbai, India. Som graduated as an Electrical Engineer, before gravitating towards the visual arts and pursuing a two year Animation masters programme at IDC, IIT Bombay. Som's fascination with visual media has seen him working on a variety of projects within the industry, some of which include; production design for the award winning live action film, 'Court', animating and directing his own animated short, 'Death of a Father', and working as an art director for a VFX studio. However, Som's love for sequential stories has since brought him back as an artist for the comic industry, presently debuting for Boom Studios, 'Crocodile Black', in collaboration with Phillip Kennedy Johnson.
