DescriptionIn 1975 the legendary Will Eisner wrote and drew a paperback book for Tempo Books called "Odd Facts." It was a collection of unsuspecting and unique bits of trivia. Offered here is a nice entry from that book! This was a follow-up to Eisner's book Incredible Facts, Amazing Statistics, Monumental Trivia published by Poorhouse Press in 1974. Eisner created a series referred to as "Gleeful Guides" prior to his pioneering work in the area of graphic novels starting in the late 1970s. This published Newspaper Pinup dated 11-18-1975 features "ODD FACTS" in history. Art is drawn on 4.5 by 8.5 inch art board, and has his printed name inked at the bottom! Just a neat piece by this iconic "SPIRIT" artist! It fascinates me how from growing up in the 1970s as a kid with little money, I had to work on my paper route to have funds to buy all of the comics I loved as a kid. And growing older I was able to buy more expensive comics as I saved my money while in the U.S. Army at West Point from 1985-1989 and I was able to finally buy my very first pages of comic art in 1989 and it has been an unbelievable roller coaster ride ever since that point trying to find the Amazing Spiderman #1-297 pages and Spiderman strip art from 1-3-1977 to 11-9-1980 I love so dearly and covet!! |
