DescriptionCheck out this very nice early Bronze AGE BATMAN ACTION page, which was penciled by the great Bob Brown, and inked by the great Dick Giordano, from the story titled: "The Toughest Cop in Gotham!" This 1972 Detective Comics page features Batman In 4 Of 6 Panels with police officer Steve "Shotgun" Smith. Early Bronze Age Batman art in particular does not turn up often on the open market, so this page by Bob Brown with inks by the great Dick Giordano is a nice example! It fascinates me how from growing up in the 1970s as a kid with little money, I had to work on my paper route to have funds to buy all of the comics I loved as a kid. And growing older I was able to buy more expensive comics as I saved my money while in the U.S. Army at West Point from 1985-1989 and I was able to finally buy my very first pages of comic art in 1989 and it has been an unbelievable roller coaster ride ever since that point trying to find the Amazing Spiderman #1-297 pages and Spiderman strip art from 1-3-1977 to 11-9-1980 I love so dearly and covet!! |
