DescriptionThis is the original art used for the cover of Mighty Mouse #56 (1954 / St. John Publishing). I don't know who the artist is. The art area is a little bigger than most Large Art, with an art area of 13" x 18+1/2". This is drawn on thick, non-flexible board. The top 1/3 of the board was cut off at one time, and was later re-attached using masking tape all over the back of the board (see photo by clicking on link above this description box that says "Back of Board"). There is masking tape in the margins on the front as well. There is a 2+1/2" break in the board at the right side by the cat's elbow. There is some minor use of whiteout, in one instance covering the "No 56". I think this has to do with the cover being used later by another publisher, which would explain the newer titles added above, too (which are all original lettering, not stats). There are some light production chemical stains and soiling. |
