DescriptionThis is an original art layout by Harvey Kurtzman (creator of Mad Magazine) drawn for his own magazine "Humbug" #7 (1958). This is Kurtzman's pencil rough that was used by artist Arnold Roth to create the published artwork. This is a historic lampoon of then-governor of Arkansas Orval Faubus, who infamously defied federal integration laws by calling out the National Guard to prevent black students from entering white schools. This sheet measures 13+1/2" x 19", and it was folded in half twice for shipping. |
