DescriptionTower of Shadows ran from Issues #1-9. With Issue #10, the title changed to Creatures on the Loose (at the very last possible moment) and it featured the first Kull solo story in Marvel Comics. King Kull (another creation of Robert E. Howard) had first appeared as a cameo in Conan the Barbarian #1. Although Bernie Wrightson did provide the interior art for the Kull story in Creatures on the Loose #10, he did not provide the cover. In an issue of Alter Ego, Roy Thomas explained that this cover was rejected as Stan Lee didn't like it. The entire masthead dressing is composed of the vintage stats. They are affixed directly to the original art board. The dressed cover appeared in print in the back pages of Savage Tales #2 in 1973, which reprinted the story from Creatures on the Loose #10.
