Anyone ever trade other collectibles for art or vice versa?

I've been wondering about this because I have a decent MTG card collection and I've been thinking about trading at least some of it towards paintings.
Any input? What would be the best way to go about doing this? Just ping someone who is open for trades and ask if they'll take things other than art?
