Description

Edizioni Casterman 1990 book, rivista Corto Maltese, ecc.
pubblicato in francese, italiano, tedesco, olandese, inglese, ecc.

_______english:________
Casterman Editions 1990 book, Corto Maltese magazine, etc.
Published in French, Italian, German, Dutch, English, etc.
Although it is an inside page, in the American edition and in the two Il Grifo editions it was used as the back cover. A pencil and ink study sketch of the Babel Tower Hotel itself, taken from the perspective of this plate, has also been published.

The back cover features a quote from the master about comics:

"Comics are the spectral charm of those paper puppets, of those situations fixed forever, immobile like stringless puppets. This is impossible in cinema, which finds its seduction in movement, rhythm, and dynamics. It is an essentially different way of captivating the eye, a different style, another mode of expression. The world of comics may generously lend its sets, characters, and stories to cinema, but not its most secret, ineffable allure, which is that of fixity, the immobility of butterflies pierced by a pin." Federico Fellini

1986 Journey to Tulum (by Federico Fellini)

Originally published as a serialized story in 1986 in the pages of "Il Corriere della Sera" under a slightly different title, Journey to Tulum is a story by Federico Fellini with illustrations by Manara. Manara later asked to make a comic book out of it, a request that was accepted. Fellini created the storyboards that inspired Manara to produce his own comics.

Splendida pagina! Complimenti!
