Description

Just purchased this from Brian Howard Schutzer of Sparkle City Comics. Anyone that has frequented my gallery knows that my holy trinity of artists is Brian Bolland, Alan Davis and Kevin Maguire. Brian Bolland's meticulously rendered covers are among the most sought after original art pieces of the past few decades and his DC covers are among his most popular works in the medium. For many years, Bolland has been doing his art exclusively in digital form. Getting any original art from him is so difficult because he dislikes putting pencil to paper these days. I knew my chances of ever getting a published work of Bolland's equaled that of my winning the lottery. The Animal Man series was a perfect fit for Bolland's unique style and I was introduced to his work from reading this title.

This full color painted cover allows us all to experience a small taste of what life was like for Buddy as Animal Man and family man. In superb condition, measuring approx. 12" X 17". Thank you, Mr. Schutzer.

Man, I remember getting this comic at the time and being blown away by this cover. All of the covers Brian did for this series were great, but this one in particular is really memorable. Fantastic art!

The mix of grand guignol vegan agitprop and consumerist culture satire is typically atypical for Bolland's Animal Man work.
