The Strange Tales line expands as Jack Russell returns in this all-new, horrific ongoing series! Jack Russell knows the precise moment of his own damnation, the moment when dusk gives way to night and he experiences the terrifying transformation into a werewolf. Each time Jack undergoes the change, he experiences the briefest glimpse of Hell -- a glimpse that seems to last for an eternity. It's more than any man can bear, and so Jack seeks release before insanity claims him once and for all! Jack has sought anonymity in New York's lower East Side among the derelicts and tenements. With his condition worsening, he knows he must confront his curse. Searching through a book of arcane knowledge, he comes across a description of a demon who may control the wolf aspect in humans, but only if the person learns the demon's name and asks for release. With the demon's name hidden in the four corners of the netherworld, Jack's mission is clear. But he will soon discover that when you walk willingly into Hell, you may never come out! THE CHARACTERS: Jack Russell -- a man battling to overcome a family curse which transforms him into a wolf on nights of the full moon. It is his heroic struggle that forms the core of this series. Roxanna -- a successful freelance travel agent who loves Jack for his sense of humor and strength of character. Unaware of his dark secret, she supports and cares for him. Father Adobe -- a priest who will soon learn of Jack's lycanthropic curse. As much as Roxanna, Adobe will be a light in Jack's life...despite the fact that he can't seem to get Jack to attend Sunday services. Social/Sharing |

Beautiful Page of the transformation. The detail in Manco's art on Werewolf by Night, Hellstorm, Blaze of Glory & Deathlok was stunning. The detail he adds in his inks is just gorgeous.

I've been going down a rabbit hole of Manco's art on CAF, and you've got a nice collection. I love the way his inks give the page such detail. Also, and I haven't noticed this on some of the other art I've of his I've been looking at, but I see a little bit of Steve Bissette in this transformation sequence (especially that second panel). Nice stuff.
