::ECCC 2017, Emerald City Comic Con, March 2nd - 5th, 2017::

Purchased this nice small piece directly from Mike first thing on Thursday morning of the show!

Mike wasn't selling any Hellboy In Hell published pages this year. Instead he had a 8 x 10 portfolio with smaller published inked art and penciled portrait pieces.

This piece was something Mike drew and felt too sentimentally attached to, but he had to sell off because he can't stay attached and hold on to everything.

This piece is special because it comes from one of my favorite scenes in Hellboy In Hell The Descent, Issue 4, when Hellboy saw that Sir Edward Grey who rescued Hellboy kept Walter Edmund Heap's painting, Death Riding An Elephant, before it went with the fire that burned the Silver Lantern Club.

Mike told me the 'Death Riding An Elephant' has been a sketch he has been drawing since he was young and really happy it made publication.

This piece was unique enough that I had to pick it up. It features both Walter Heap and the painting, Death Riding An Elephant in the background, which I thought was really cool!

It has nearly a "Uganda-feeling" with the elephant ;) . Really cool piece. I am so jealous that I will never ever have the opportunity to buy something directly from the master himself...... as he never comes to Europe. Sad, but what a nice piece!
