Description

From the 1993 Daredevil “Fall from Grace” prelude - this page highlights the new art style Scott was playing in.

Here we see glimpses of Hallspawn ( Daredevil’s demonic doppelgänger ) and some body horror - that would make David Cronenberg proud - as he rips his spiked billy club from his own flesh, as he plots murder.

As Scott told me “ Doppelganger was intensely creepy – and intensely fun to draw! The contrast between the two was awesome, with the grotesque similarities delivering the creepiness! ”

Doppelganger was indeed creepy and I distinctly remember the whole billy club inside his leg thing. I love McDaniel's art on DD, watching his style evolve as he went. Congrats!

Great pages! I was always fascinated by artists like Bachalo who played with incorporating motifs like this into their page design but I never really thought of McDaniel as someone who experimented with it. I'll have to give this run a look through again.
