DescriptionIt's no secret that I'm a big fan of Ben Reilly and especially his time as the Sensational Spider-Man. Finally being able to have a page from the eponymous 90's Clone Saga series, is a great milestone in my collection. Let alone a page of this quality!I was immediately drawn to this piece - by writer/penciller Dan Jurgens & inker Klaus Janson - because of the dramatic close-up at the bottom, making up a big chunk of the page. I've always loved the cover of "Sensational Spider-Man" #4, with Ben unmasked in his costume, and this made me think of that. But that's not all! On top of that dramatic push-in, you have a couple of pictures of Ben doing typical Spidey stuff. Full body shots of Spidey shooting webs & swinging? You got it! Some great storytelling combined with some equally great action shots! Storywise, we have Peter picking up Ben in his car & catching up on the status-quo of the series (together with the reader): Ben's been dating Jessica (but there's something about her uncle and her obsession with with Spider-Man). Great character & some action work by Jurgens, with great finishing touches by Janson! The page is a bit bigger than 11x17 & signed by Dan Jurgens. Social/Sharing |

This was the series that lured Jurgens from DC to Marvel and there was a big event feel for him to establish Ben's character! A very nice big panel of him unmasked to make sure there's no mistake who this page is all about. Janson's inks over Jurgens brings an instant gravitas to the page.

Absolutely! You can really see the effort Janson put into inking Ben's face, hair & costume in that bottom section. Thanks for the comment, Marcus!

Such an awesome piece from Jurgens and Janson !! It has both "Peters" and a great montage of Spidey action in photograph form ! A true gem of a page !
