Description

Teen Titans 44 was my first issue of the series and introduction to most of the characters. My parents bought it for me from the spinner rack at Eckerd’s Drugs.

I can’t really say that I collected the book as it was published but I tried. I always had a particular love for this issue-where Dr. Light captures the Titans to gain access to the JLA satellite but leaves Mal behind because he does not perceive him as a threat. I have been a Mal fan since I read this story. Mal must find a way to rescue his teammates and to to defeat Light. Equipped with an exo-skeleton he finds in Robin’s locker and the Guardian’s costume from Speedy’s locker, he travels to the JLA satellite to continue the battle.

I have never seen a page from issue 44 until Heritage listed some in August 2023. I am very glad to have obtained this one-where the new Guardian confronts Dr. Light to rescue his teammates and the Flash.
