Description

The 1916 edition that this piece appeared in was one of my favorites as a child
found this in a used bookstore i nthe 1980's traded it 10 years later and now have gotten it back in a trade (thanks to Mitch Itkowitz)
Winter was a chicago based artist who did a series of classics for Rand McNally

I know Mr. Winter's work primarily for the illustrations he did for this very book. My parents bought it for me when I was eight so seeing this is like seeing an old friend.
