This is a cartoon for a newsletter at work.
Metadata is data about the stuff you are storing or filing away.
A good example if I had you a picture of a white horse next to a red barn. The description of the picture is the data about that picture. If you look at the picture and it is of a black cat on a fence. Then the metadata is wrong.
