So here is an incredible piece of Ninja Turtles history. These are the very first images of the final Shredder that would ultimately be used as style guide for the notorious villain when creating TMNT issue #1 and future comics to come. We even get a rare glimpse of the face behind the mask, Oroku Saki. Early Shredder art is notoriously difficult to come by so I really couldn't ask for a better example. Framed it up with Kevin's sticky note still on the back of the page as well!

Per Kevin Eastman: "Although there were a few other concept sketches of the Shredder around this time--once Peter and I agreed on the "look", I drew this character sheet we could use for reference while drawing the first issue--so we would know how many razors on each arm or leg as we worked through different poses in the book."
